Rabbi Josh Sananes

Junior High Hebrew Teacher
“Torah study is the most important thing we as Jews have. It is compared to water for a fish. Just as a fish cannot live without water, we cannot exist without the Torah.”

I am originally from Gibraltar. I attended Gibraltar’s Talmud Torah, and then Gateshead Yeshiva in Gateshead, England. It’s been 25 years since I became a Rabbi. In that time, I’ve taught as a fifth grade Rebbe in Shaare Torah for 25 years and have been the Rabbi for a youth program in Bet Yaakov/Edmund J Safra Synagogue for over a decade.

I have always loved learning. For that reason, I became a teacher. I feel most passionate about Hebrew studies, which is what I will be teaching at Gesher Yehuda.

It is an honor and privilege to be a part of the education system. We are teaching the next generation’s future leaders; we are building the future one student at a time.
