I started teaching undergraduate and graduate students 30 years ago at the City University of New York and New York University. I have seen what happens when people are given the education they need, at the time they need it. I have written and studied widely on issues of religion, politics, civil society, and philanthropy, including Jewish philanthropy. In the course of this work, I have raised millions of dollars in research for these subjects and communities.
Since 2009, I’ve been a senior educational administrator, becoming the Executive Director of Gesher Yehuda Yeshiva in 2014. It’s been a privilege to support individualized curricula for our students at Gesher and seeing them thrive.
At Gesher Yehuda Yeshiva, we work with children with learning differences — bright children who struggle in a mainstream setting. We offer small, structured learning environments designed to meet individual needs. We are an academic program with highly trained special education teachers and therapists. Since 1994, our alumni have gone on to college, careers, and successful lives. All students deserve the education that best fits their needs.
