“In a successful classroom – the focus should be; Are the students happy, and are they learning?”

Over the years, I’ve seen a lot of students and been in a lot of classrooms. When education is functioning for a student, you can see it. Is the teacher sensitive to the learning needs of her diverse range of students? Are different learning styles and abilities being accommodated? Most schools and teachers aren’t set up to offer the kind of individualized attention some students need to thrive.

Experienced teachers bring a lot to the table and can coach other teachers. A good teacher will persist in seeking effective approaches for students who are having difficulties learning or need enrichment. We never give up and will develop a repertoire of strategies to personalize learning.
