Educational Director and Curriculum Coordinator
“I know that my passion about education leads children to be more passionate about learning. By focusing on skill building, we give children the tools they need to thrive in life.”

I serve as our Educational Director and Curriculum Coordinator for the upper grades. In this capacity, I design learning environments that engage students who have all types of disabilities and challenges. I am attuned to the need of our student body to be successful in the community at large. For this reason it’s important to meet with teachers and staff on a regular basis to develop personalized educational and social skill solutions to allow each child to thrive to his or her fullest potential. I am passionate about educating children; this leads to children who are more passionate about learning and are better prepared for the future. My skills-based approach stems from an ideal to provide children with the tools to survive in life. “If you give a man a fish, you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime.”

Along with other duties, I am responsible for staff development, evaluating students for class placement and participating in the hiring and supervision of teachers and assistants.

My education encompasses a B.A. in psychology and an M.S. in Special and General Bi-lingual Education from the College of Staten Island, as well as an M.S. in educational administration from The College of St. Rose. I am a Wilson certified reading specialist who also spearheads the use of technology in our classrooms.

I love applying different facets of psychology and education to create learning environments that engage, challenge and enable all types of students to be successful in the community at large. It takes a team, and I meet with teachers and staff on a regular basis to continuously fine-tune the personalized educational and social skills solutions for each child.

Prior to joining Gesher Yehuda in 2005, I was the Principal at Ha’or Beacon School, a special education program, with a specialty in behavior intervention. I currently serve as a practicum supervisor at Daemen College and mentor both new and experienced teachers.
